Fundamental to our being is conformity to the Divine Will. St. Alphonsus’ tract is almost effusive on this point. In God we are made, and move, and am. If God is the source and object of all good, sanctity itself rests on conforming ourselves to Him. This is the reality of being a temple of the Holy Ghost. For Him to increase in us, we much decrease to self. We become fully ourselves, just as Angels and the souls of the just find their perfect being, in being one with His Will. It’s the only real definition of “self actualization” — motivating yourself to be at one with His Will. Mary our model was the perfect conformity, the perfect Fiat, because she was incumbered by sin. See Holy Communion. To commune with Him so that He gives Himself to us, so that we in turn give ourselves to Him. It’s all around us. In essence, conformity to the Divine Will is the some of our purpose, and our essence. God bless you, Brother.

…because she was unencumbered by sin. Sometimes I loathe inline spell checkers.
