This is indeed a salient response to the theological conundrum generated not so much by the Council but by those ecclesiatics in the implementation and interpretation of the documents.

However, it would be naive to presume that Marxism is dead in the water. Much of the focus of Marxism has been taken from the use of socialism to reform industrial production to the use of class warfare to structure those things which are antecedent to labor. These are the family and social mores and taboos. Class warfare is now between man and woman in the household and in the job market. Similarly gender is the basis for the redefinition of marriage in the legal mechanisms of the western democracies and the distribution of rights to those who previously were denied marital status by virtue of their sexual preference. Thus the marxist focus is more orientated towards the redistribution of legal power rather than control of factories since many economies are no longer based entirely on manufacture. gay rights, pro-choice and the restructuring of health care delivery all have much of their basis in marxism.
